Remove your Noor data
Last updated:
Noor stores preferences and learning information on your device. It also uses a random identifier for Hadith rotation. Here is how to remove each type.
There is no account to close
Noor has no account, sign-in, cloud profile, subscription or purchase record. There is therefore no account-deletion form. Your available controls apply to information on your device and the Hadith rotation record described below.
Remove bookmarks and notes
Open Bookmarks and remove each bookmark or note you no longer want. This removes that item from your device. Noor has no account backup from which to restore it.
Remove learning progress
You can unmark a memorised Surah or Ayah in Hifz. This changes its memorised status but does not erase the saved history of practice attempts. Wird progress and word history also remain on your device until you reset the app completely.
Remove saved Hadith
Open a saved Hadith and use its remove control. This removes that saved item from your device. It does not clear your recent Hadith history, schedule or the live rotation record.
Clear Hadith data
Go to Settings → Privacy → Clear Hadith data. Noor first asks its service to remove the active rotation record. After the service confirms this, the app clears the current and recent Hadith, saved Hadith, schedule, notification state and old random identifier from your device. If the request cannot be completed, Noor keeps the information so you can try again.
Hadith rotation records expire after 90 days without activity. After you clear the data, a safety marker made from the old random identifier can remain for up to 90 days. It holds no Hadith, history or schedule; it stops an older request from recreating the record you cleared. The control removes Noor's active record, but it cannot promise that every infrastructure backup changes at the same moment.
Remove downloaded Quran content
Go to Settings → Offline Reading and choose Remove for downloaded Quran content. Downloads also become invalid six days after they were saved and are removed the next time Noor reads them. This does not remove streamed chapter audio or runtime Quran fonts, which are not part of the offline Quran download.
Reset Noor completely
Noor does not have one in-app erase-all button. For a complete local reset, uninstall Noor or use your operating system's app-data controls. This asks the operating system to remove Noor's settings, reading position, bookmarks, notes, Hifz and Wird progress, attempt and word history, downloads, saved Hadith and other local state.
Consider anything you want to keep first. Noor has no account or cloud backup from which to restore local information. A local reset does not itself clear an active Hadith service record, so use Clear Hadith data before uninstalling if you want to remove that record too.
Recitation practice
Noor's native practice does not send or retain your recording or recognised words on Noor's service. Apple or Google may process speech under your device settings and their own privacy terms. You can turn microphone and speech permissions off in your operating-system settings.
